Biography
COL(Ret) Robert A. Mazzoli, MD FACS’s 38-year Army career spanned uniformed service in both the Signal and Medical Corps. He is a former Consultant in Ophthalmology to The Surgeon General of the Army and Chief and Chairman of Ophthalmology at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA. His other military leadership experience includes Communications Platoon Leader, Headquarters Battery Executive Officer, medical unit Commander, and Chief of Ophthalmic Services. He followed his military career by serving in the DoD-VA Vision Center of Excellence, an organization he was selected to institute in 2008. A native of Louisville, KY, he is a graduate of West Point and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD. He received his ophthalmic training at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX (residency) and The Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA (Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive, and Orbital Surgery).
